Holistic Health Services and Integrative Treatments

Holistic health services focus on treating the whole person rather than a single organ system. Integrative health brings conventional and complementary approaches together in a coordinated way, often combining two or more, such as medicine, physical rehabilitation or psychotherapy alongside practices like yoga or probiotics. Functional medicine, a related approach, asks why you are ill and looks for underlying reasons such as genetics, nutrition, stress and exposures. Common integrative treatments include hormone therapy, IV nutrient therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, low dose immunotherapy, peptide therapy and regenerative medicine. Their evidence and regulatory status vary widely, from FDA-approved medicines to treatments still under study.

What Is Integrative Medicine?

Integrative health brings conventional and complementary approaches together in a coordinated way. It often combines two or more approaches, such as medication, physical rehabilitation or psychotherapy alongside complementary approaches like yoga or probiotics, with an emphasis on treating the whole person rather than one organ system. It also aims for well-coordinated care among your different providers.

At Renew Integrative Health, that means standard lab testing and prescription treatment where they fit, plus nutrition, lifestyle changes and the services below when they make sense for you. We work alongside your other clinicians, not instead of them.

What Is Functional Medicine?

Functional medicine starts with one question: why are you ill? It looks for the underlying reasons behind a condition, including genetics, poor nutrition, stress, toxin and allergen exposure and impaired gut health, then builds a plan around what you can change, such as nutrition, exercise, sleep and emotional health. See the conditions we treat for how this works for specific health problems.

Holistic Health Services We Offer

Each service below has its own page covering what it is, its risks and what the research does and does not show. We would rather you choose with the full picture than be sold on a promise.

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy

Bioidentical hormones have the same chemical structure as the hormones your body makes. Many FDA-approved hormone products are bioidentical, while custom compounded hormones are not FDA-approved, so we explain the options for you.

IV Nutrient Therapy

IV nutrient therapy delivers fluids, vitamins and minerals through a small IV, so they go straight into your bloodstream and bypass the digestive system. Research on many wellness uses is still limited, and we walk you through it.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy means breathing oxygen inside a pressurized chamber. Our HBOT page explains the chamber we use, how a session works and what the research shows.

Low Dose Immunotherapy

Low dose immunotherapy uses very small doses of antigens with the goal of calming an overactive immune response. No large clinical trial has shown it treats a specific condition, and our LDI page explains what is and is not known.

Peptide Therapy

Peptides are short chains of amino acids. Some, like semaglutide and tirzepatide, are FDA-approved medicines, while others, like BPC-157, are not, and we explain where each one stands before you decide.

Regenerative Medicine

Regenerative medicine aims to repair or replace damaged cells and tissues. The FDA regulates these products, and many marketed stem cell and exosome products are not FDA-approved, so we explain where each option stands.

Holistic Health Services FAQs

What Is the Difference Between Functional and Integrative Medicine?

They overlap. Functional medicine focuses on finding the underlying reasons behind a chronic condition, while integrative health brings conventional and complementary approaches together in a coordinated way. Our practice uses both.

Are These Treatments FDA-Approved?

It depends on the treatment. Some, such as certain bioidentical hormone products and peptide medicines like semaglutide, are FDA-approved for specific uses. Others, such as compounded hormones and many wellness peptides, are not. Each service page explains where it stands.

How Do I Know Which Service Is Right for Me?

Start with a consultation. We review your history, symptoms and labs, then explain which options fit your goals and what the evidence shows for each one.

Do You Offer Virtual Visits?

Yes. Along with in-person visits at our Newark, Delaware office, we offer virtual consultations for patients across the United States.
